I graduated from Winchester School of Art (University of Southampton) in 1995, gaining a 1st Class BA Honours in Textiles/Fashion specialising in knitted textiles.
The collection won The Graduate Fashion Week Knitwear Award, the Winchester School of Art Colour Award and was chosen to be exhibited with Texprint in London and Dusseldorf.
I am currently a Knitwear designer at Gary Rooney Design London, and have previously held positions at Studio M Design Consultancy London, and as a freelance designer at The Collection, London.
After selling knitwear designs both nationally, and internationally to fashion houses, and retail outlets, 2010 saw the beginnings of my first collection of handmade knitted accessories gifts and products for the home.
All of the fabric is either hand or hand-powered machine knitted on a re-conditioned knitting machine, and then finished in my garden studio in Berkshire. My inspirations include 1950′s colour palettes, geometrics, and re-worked Fair Isle patterns.
I am currently working on a collection that is predominently made with British materials. The lambs wool has been spun in Ayrshire Scotland, the lavender and wheat that fill my scented hearts and birds has been grown and dried in the UK, and the duck feather cushion pads that are inside my individually designed and made cushions, have also been sourced from a British company.
I hope you enjoy the collection as much as I have making it!
